Position Description

Assemble Millard Lumber products per order instructions, such as patio, storm, entrance doors and windows while correcting product performance issues, due to manufacturing defects or delivery damage.


Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handles, unpacks, inserts or positioning of materials, clamping, splicing, fitting parts and use of both hands and saws. Assemble various parts and pieces to complete quality-finished windows and/or doors.
  • Operate saws, punches, nail/staple guns, drills or drill press machines.
  • Ensures that assembled items meets specific quality and specification by measuring and markings of material and checks on materials for defects or damages
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures & practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers
  • Assist in all other areas of the Installation, Millwork and Warehouse Department as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Tape measure experience
  • Previous experience in construction/woodworking environment with a variety of hand and power tools to cut, saw, staples and nail gun


Other Requirements

  • Must Pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Work morning/evening hours during week and required weekends and overtime
  • Maintenance of regular attendance


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent Verbal & Written Communication
  • Basic math & measurement skills.
  • Comprehend and follow instructions communicated in written, oral and diagram form
  • Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst busy work environment
  • Ability to work as an individual and as a team to meet productions goals.
  • Willing to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education.


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Work is in a warehouse setting and may be performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
  • Have clear, close vision for reading and computer work, measurements, assembly of parts and visual acuity to operate power tools.
  • Repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and or fingers
  • Job may require reaching at or above shoulder level and below waist. 
  • Must be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift/carry up to 80 lbs., push/pull up to 70 lbs.,
  • Grasp, talk, hear, standing/walk for prolonged periods.
