Position Description

As an assembler, you will perform operations to produce Truss and/or Walls. Rotating through all the tasks required in a particular production process.  

 

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assembles building parts on a production table or automated line for Truss and Walls.
  • Processes includes insertion or positioning of materials by nailing, screwing, cutting components and metal plates to size using a combination of hand tools, air powered and automated equipment.
  • Measures product or length of boards by marks on sorting table or with measuring tape
  • Lift and handle dimensional lumber of varying sizes and lengths.
  • Loads/stacks finished materials on carts and/or pallets.

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Tape measure experience
  • Previous experience in construction, framing, truss assembly desirable with a variety of hand (hammer) and power tools (nail gun/saw).

 

Other Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Work morning/evening hours during week and required weekends and overtime
  • Maintenance of regular attendance

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent Verbal & Written Communication
  • Basic math & measurement skills.
  • Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst busy work environment
  • Ability to work as an individual and as a team to meet productions goals.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Work is in a warehouse setting and may be performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
  • Must have clear, close vision for reading and computer work. Must be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift/carry up to 64 lbs., push/pull up to 60 lb., grasp, talk, hear, standing/walk for prolonged periods. Job may require reaching at or above shoulder level and below waist.
